Yellow Car
This is a simple travelling game invented by a young relative of mine one day last year, while he was on a long car journey.
The rules are simple. If you see a yellow or gold vehicle, and call it first, you get a point or points. The basic game is to beat every other player and get maximum points.
The scoring is as follows:
Easy game to play. But absolutely engrossing.
Variations:
- 13: Avoid getting a score of 13, or you automatically lose.
- Target: First to get, say, 20 points before the end of the journey wins.
- Beat the Clock: Get 20 points before time's up. Winner is the first to get the target value. If nobody gets 20 before time's up, closest to that number wins.
Have a go, next time you're on a journey.
Taxis and school buses in the US do count. If you're in NY, and you come across a streetful of yellow cabs, that's your tough luck. Have fun trying to count 'em.
