Stray thought

When I was in Chester last Thursday, minding the two American tourists, I took them to see the Shrine to Minerva:-

Now, as I crossed the Handbridge with those two women in tow, I must confess that my only thought at that time was a wicked one.

I found myself thinking 'What if I go up to the shrine and say something like "Hello, Minerva, I've brought you this week's sacrifices. *rummage in bag* Now where did I put that sacrificial dagger?"'

Matter of fact, I'm still thinking that thought now. :D

Phoenix ConGames: Phoenix, AZ

I spotted a piece of information posted by [livejournal.com profile] jesshartley, about the Phoenix ConGames gaming convention taking place this weekend.

Details are here.

Hunter demos taking place there:-

RP-1011.00 "Hunter the Vigil: Something is wrong in Iowa"

"Leonard met the police at his mailbox covered in blood, sobbing, with his house on fire. He told the police, “Something went horribly wrong!” They found his daughters cut ear to ear ..."

RP-1012.00 "Hunter the Vigil: Operation "Seek and Destroy""

"The government has been unable to stop what they believe to be a "Thrill Kill Cult". While it is unclear exactly what "IT" is – it is not human and the government is not equipped to handle it. But your new Cell is ..."

These demos will be run by The Wrecking Crew.

Updated: Looks like the places are all filled already. However, I'm sure it'll be a good place to go to watch test runs of Hunter: the Vigil.

Plus, you'll get to see Jess Hartley at various talks.

Diary of a Lojbanist, Day 1

These last few days, I've been spending my time writing down notes on a language called Lojban. I've printed up the "Lojban for Beginners" article on the web ("velcli befi la lojban. bei loi co'a cilre") and put it in a folder. All good stuff. Now I've only got to go and follow the lessons, do the exercises and try out a little practice.

Wish me success. I love learning languages. This should be fun.

One regret. I didn't have the cash to be able to buy the complete Lojban reference book last year at Eastercon. I've got a bit more cash now, but nowhere can I find this damned book.

And I can't get it online either. No credit card.
