Not staying out here long tonight
It is pissing down outside the shed. It's 21:48 or so, and pitch dark. *sigh* Long days are a thing of the past again.
Earlier, the sky outside was a deep,luxuriant purple, with the bright orange highlights of distant fluorescent lighting from the town. It looked glorious, or at least it did indoors. Crossing from the house to the shed underneath that angry, drenching, freezing rain ... not so glorious.
Somewhat earlier still, I watched as Mum and Dad got this carpet steamer thing ready to steam clean the carpet in the conservatory. Mum crossed the living room carrying the steam cleaner in, trailing the wire behind it. Dad, of course, was bent over behind her trying to pick up the wire to plug it in. Problem is, every time he bent over, Mum had moved on ... and the wire kept moving out of Dad's reach.
I don't think I've seen anything so funny.
