Praise No Day Until Sunset ...
... though I think I can venture that today was, all things considered, okay so far for me.
Sam dropped by after school. Mum briefed him about the split yesterday. He seemed okay about it. A little sad, but who wouldn't be?
We spent the afternoon shooting the shit, then settled down for a Yu-Gi-Oh! duel at last. Sam was merciless. But then, so was I.
Not saying who won, but we both took heavy Life Point losses, especially after I played two "Dark Snake Syndrome" cards, and "Dark Room of Nightmare": 400 Life Points this round, doubling each subsequent turn, plus he suffered another 300 Life Points each turn on top of that.
Crazy crazy combo. >:)
How I could have drawn nothing but Spell cards the whole duel long, though, was bloody beyond me. So glad he never played "Mask of Restrict", because the only way I could have summoned monsters onto the field was through Tributes and Special Summons.
So yes, all things considered, it was a good day. I think it was being able to shoot the breeze with my nephew, and the chat I had in town earlier with Wendy, that did the trick.
