Right, then, I'll be off. Catching the 10:07 to Manchester, getting there just about noon.

The storm from last night might be over, but the rain's still with us. I am going to get drenched.

Standard rain protocol, then: double bag all valuables*, keep them in the rucksack, travel light everywhere. Two hands free for as long as possible.
