The Time Eater

The Time Eater

The world's strangest clock, unveiled

The world's strangest clock, the Chronophage or "Time Eater," sounds like something out of Doctor Who. Actually, I suspect it might have more to do with the Cult of the Doomsday Clock, a Left Hand Legacy of Abyss-corrupted willworkers from White Wolf's Mage: the Awakening Storytelling game.

As I posted elsewhere:-

"I'm now waiting to hear of the sudden rash of "missing time" reports coming in from Cambridge. It begins with people arriving unexpectedly late to meetings by a few minutes, and they all swore "they made good time."

Then someone will walk their dog and come home to accusations of sloping off down the pub by the partner, when they know they only went up the road and round the corner - a twenty minute walk, tops. What's this about "gone for three hours?"

And all the while, fleeting time will just continue to slip down that ever-hungry locust's maw ..."

when i used to work in cambridge, we definitely had an issue with missing time - especially at lunch - perhaps the effects of the chronophage tunneled back to before its creation? any alternative suggestions involving the clarendon seem unlikely to me.

Retroactive Temporal Consumption

Thank you for giving me the excuse to use the above phrase in the title of a post. :D
