Moving On, Now
Feb. 10th, 2007 11:07 amRight, then. I left my Coming Out post at the top for a few days, so everyone could read it and respond if they wished. But now, it's time for me to move on.
I came up with a classic yesterday. :) We've got some snow outside this morning, but while it looks bad today, it was worse yesterday - it snowed, more or less continuously, for 48 hours. So I was concerned about the traffic situation in town. I needn't have worried, but nonetheless it was a concern.
I ordered a taxi, and while my folks were watching TV in the back room, I waited in the front hall for the taxi to arrive. I'd told Mum I'd forgotten my mobile phone - it being upstairs - but I made sure I had it with me.
Anyway, the taxi arrived, and I had to put a rush on. I yelled "Laters!" and headed out the door. The taxi brought me straight to the flat, no worries: but no sooner did I arrive, when my mobile went off. It was Mum, texting me to ask whether I'd caught a bus or if the taxi had come.
So I texted her back with "This mobile phone is still in Alex's back bedroom. Please try again later."
Mum read it out, and Dad said "So he's still got to be upstairs, then ..."
I had to call Mum on the apartment landline, just to hear her reaction. It was priceless. :)
