I know this all seems rather subdued and mundane, just reporting on my heading into town and all of that - but I'm living a quiet life these days. Just trying to get on with my life, catch up on my reading, and keep out of people's way.

I've not had anything new come my way since April, and I am beginning to suspect that six months without a new project = dead in the RPG industry. Well, it would seem to be in my case.

So it's on with The Fourth Rewrite and just, you know, get on with it. Life's for living. And if I'm not getting any new bites because what I turned out last time was crap, well, so be it. My book won't be.

HIV may have been around since 1884 ...

"US experts analysed one of the earliest samples of the virus ever found, in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 1959.

The study, published in the journal Nature, suggests the virus may have crossed from apes to humans between 1884 and 1924.

They believe newly-built cities may have allowed the virus to thrive ..."

*unutterable dismay*

Blind activists plan film protest

The above article is about a film called "Blindness" which depicts a town which collapses when some sort of an epidemic causes its population to go blind with some sort of contagion.

'"The movie portrays blind people as monsters and I believe it to be a lie," said Marc Maurer, president of the NFB.' (National Federation of The Blind - the US version of our own RNIB)

Maurer also states:-

"Blind people in this film are portrayed as incompetent, filthy, vicious, and depraved. They are unable to do even the simplest things like dressing, bathing, and finding the bathroom.

"The truth is that blind people regularly do all of the same things that sighted people do."

Hear hear.
