I got up before six.
I can't describe how I've felt of late. A desperate need to live. I think I'll describe it like that. The knowledge that all of our time is so precious to us, that it slips away like fleeting glimpses of sunshine on a cloudy day and then all is cloud and darkness, eternally, just weighed on me. As it does.
So today, I have some things to write down, some things to draw up, and an esrly start to the day. As per usual, I aim to be AFK for the weekend, just getting on with my stuff. I want to finish this book, Mind Over Matter, (yet another) Traveller psion expansion module, and get it sent off to Dale McCoy to see what he can make of it. Once I'm satisfied that I've done what I can for the book, I can lay it to rest, send it off and see what JBE has to say about it. Then I can get back to my Fourth Rewrite, The Gilded Saidara with the Silver Touch.
I need a shave, another shower and a big, hearty breakfast. But most of all, I want to use every waking minute of my life today, doing something.
And damn. I just realised. Tomorrow is the tenth anniversary of Breakaway Day, when according to The Gospel of Saint Gerry Anderson, Atomic Waste Disposal Area 2 on the Moon blew up and sent Earth's satellite, along with Moonbase Alpha, hurtling away from Earth and out into the endless void:-

... and I'll be AFK throughout the day, so I'll miss all the celebrations ... ;)
Still, I'll catch up on Monday, where it will be Eris Day again, celebrating the official naming of the planet whose discovery brought about the unjust demotion of Pluto from the rank of "planets" ("That which we call a planet, by any other name, would ... erm ... something"). Oh, yes, I'll be back for that. :)
