The Scope

Japanese. Welsh. Some of my other languages. Forget coding and IT. Languages are the way to go.

I was given a real boost today. I had a brief conversation, where I held my own in Japanese. It was only a simple conversation, but nonetheless it was a beginning.

So yeah. Languages. I'll be committing myself to working on my languages, while at the same time pursuing this writing career of mine. It seems natural that they will eventually become closely entwined, so expect more foreign language output in due course.

And yes, that does include Klingon.

I will shortly be AFK and go walkabout in town again, probably taking in the Library or dropping by the college for a spell, just to cool my heels and chill for a bit. Ja mata nochi hodo.

The Scope 2

A group with which you're affiliated with could suddenly seem to grow closer, and a "family feeling" could develop among its members. Wristband

I bought a thick yellow rubber wristband from two fatigue-clad soldiers in the street yesterday. The wristband has the slogan "SUPPORT THE ROYAL WELSH IN AFGHANISTAN" in relief on it.

I have been trying to turn the wristband around so that it reads "THE ROYAL WELSH" but every time I look, the bloody thing's rotated so that it reads "AFGHANISTAN SUPPORT."

This has been happening to a couple of other people I know. Nobody wants to wear these bands after a while. I wonder why ... :D
