I had stuff to do today. Instead, I sorted out my DVD collection.

A fairly non-extensive collection, my DVDs include V For Vendetta, Pan's Labyrinth, The Devil Rides Out, the original The Day The Earth Stood Still, four Matrix DVDs - the trilogy plus the Animatrix - some random Star Trek DVDs from various back order magazines, Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country, Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek (2009), erm, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, the Riddick trilogy, the LoTR trilogy. Battle Royale, 28 Days Later, Dog Soldiers ... Hells, even Doom.

I even have the 1930s Universal Dracula and Frankenstein (Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff, respectively). Somewhere in the bottom of the pile, two DVDs offered as birthday presents - The Day After Tomorrow and Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow. (I got Queen of The Damned for another birthday present, but that's enough depression for one post).

Oh, and Constantine. And Hellboy.

I have a few others: but really, you wouldn't call my collection particularly special. And yet, I could not live without some of these movies.

One thing I loved about the prequel series Star Trek: Enterprise was the regular feature of their movie nights. Those movie nights gave the crew a sense of regularity and routine. I got the impression that they kept the crew sane.

And for all that I may have seen many of these a dozen times over, I still love my little Monday night movie nights. Maybe, some Monday night, I will enjoy a movie night in company.

I can only wish.

Tomorrow, I get done the things I needed to do today. :)
