She Got Him!

fiat_knoxToday, I dropped by the folks'. Dad was in the kitchen, working on the door saddle. I was content to sit and watch as Dad made his usual light hearted banter with Mum. I have no idea how she managed to put up with him all these years.
Well, I found out how today.
Dad finishes his work on the door saddle, so it no longer wobbles when you step on it. He gets up on shaky knees, looks proudly at his handiwork and turns to look at Mum.
"Oh, it's crooked," says Mum.
For one second, before he realises he's been had, Dad looks so crestfallen.
And then Mum cracks up.
She got him.
Damn me, but she got him but good. :)
