The composer Hoyt S Curtin composed the music for Wacky Races.
He also composed the music for Battle Of The Planets.
"He was the composer of many of the Hanna-Barbera cartoons' popular theme songs, including The Flintstones until 1981, Top Cat, The Jetsons, Jonny Quest, Superfriends, Josie and the Pussycats, The Smurfs and The New Scooby-Doo Movies and all its spinoffs until 1986." [Wikipedia]
Just look at his credited scores ...

The reason I bring this up is pure nostalgia. I bought the complete series of Wacky Races on a 3 - DVD set. Thirty-four episodes, or just the one episode repeated thirty-four times with different backgrounds if you're feeling cynical.
And the composer (who also basically scored a ton of Hanna - Barbera cartoons) just happened to turn up when I ran a Google check for "Wacky Races sound effects."
Just curious. :)
