Weekend Update
Jan. 27th, 2007 10:18 amWell, this week I went off to Manchester to buy Belial's Brood and Legacies: the Ancient for the Vampire: the Requiem and Mage: the Awakening games, respectively. I hadn't realised just how vividly carmine the cover of Belial's Brood was until I saw it - it was damn near glowing at me.
Legacies is glorious. Some old Traditions from Mage: the Ascension have returned: Dreamspeakers, Euthanists and the Hermetic Thrice-Great Legacy spring to mind, to stand alongside the Uncrowned Kings and the Ahl-i-Batin Subtle Ones Legacy from the core book.
Wood Ingham did the writeups for five whole Legacies, namely the Elemental Masteries - Tamers of the Cave, of Fire, of Stone, of the Rivers and of the Winds. The Tamers of the Caves weren't mentioned in the core book - they're new to Mage. And they're also a perfect fit for one of the major characters in my Fourth Rewrite, of which more below.
Right then. News from the Domestic Desk. I helped my folks sort out their DVD recorder. I had to tell Mum that she didn't need to rewind the disc back to the start, or worry about the disc recording over something else. In fact, if she needed to delete something from the disc, she actually had to go and do it from the menu list - something she found a little too complicated.
Which is a shame.
Also back home, I wrote up another 1,500 words on my Fourth Rewrite. At 16 pages plus, this chapter is now easily the longest I have done for this rewrite, and the focus of it has been almost entirely on one place. It's not yet complete - I've got to wrap it up, or possibly print out what I've done so far and work on the rest later.
I can see this thing growing to 20 pages before I am done. I'm going to need a new folder.
In the next chapter, our heroine gets back and spends some time among the real people, and witnesses news catching up with the community. A chapter of ordinariness, with a subtle foreshadowing of what is to come in the tale.
I'm looking forward to Chapter Six. :)
Last thing is, I made the bed and changed the bedsheets. I need to remind myself for Tuesday to go and look out for some new bedding and stuff, when I get the cash in.
After I've paid the water bill, which dropped through my letterbox yesterday morning.
