Free RPG Day
Jun. 23rd, 2008 07:00 pmMy favourite moment from Free RPG Day? I watched the Fan Boy 3 crowd wander off to Travelling Man to bring some of that store's Free RPG stocks back to FB3.
They went, they saw, they plundered.
Makes me feel okay for having come away with multiple copies of the Hunter: the Vigil Quickstart from Fan Boy 3 and Travelling Man. If I meet a possible enthusiast, I can hand him a spare copy. I've got five of them.
Watching the D&D fans enthusiastically tackling the free RPG dungeon was a good sign. Not just for WotC, but for gaming in general. It might still be a minority activity, marginalised and demonised in some bigoted quarters, but roleplaying games still, for the moment, have a strong fan base.
Long may it continue to be so.
