Last night

Somebody proclaimed, rather arrogantly I thought, that the Americans were incapable of producing a SF TV series with the cachet of the BBC's cult The Hitch Hiker's Guide to The Galaxy.

My reply: "I wouldn't know if it'll stand the test of time like H2G2 has, but I'd say that parts of Firefly came pretty damn close. And their movie adaptation was miles better than the pisspoor H2G2 one."
