That Carlsberg Team Talk Ad

Just saw the grotesquely over the top England ad by Carlsberg, egging on the men with lines like "Time to join the immortals" and pictures of a heroic footballer standing next to a lion on the top of the steps.

I'd give that kind of a team talk to the real heroes - the men and women who go out there on foot patrol in Afghanistan, risking their lives from snipers and roadside IEDs.

Not this bunch of utter Jessies.

What Is My Expletive?

I don't call out to God under duress. I utter one or more of the following maledicta instead:-

I probably invoke other maledicta under duress, but these are my favourites.

No mention of God. I mean, if I wanted to invoke a fictional being I might as well invoke Spock, Tinkerbell or J R Pufenstuf.

The 'Scope Today
