Bernard Matthews RIP
Nov. 26th, 2010 11:21 amAnd it's Thanksgiving weekend, so all thoughts in the US are on turkeys. How ironic. Still, it could be worse. We don't have Thanksgiving over here - this year, we have bugger all to be thankful for - so we're not overly concerned with turkeys over here this weekend. Further, Bernard might have held on until Christmas, and given the UK journalists material for their sordid rags.
Tryptophan addicts of the UK, a sad day for you. Vegetarians ... one less of Them to oppose you.
Feel free to comment below. I expect at least one use of his catchphrase, "Bootiful."
Ah. Just beat you to it.
Achievements
Nov. 26th, 2010 09:40 pmI close for tonight with two posts describing achievements.
First, scientists have managed somehow to create what is, in effect, a Bose-Einstein Condensate state of photons rather than particles - and at room temperature, rather than at close toabsolute zero:- Sea of photons made to behave as one photon.
Second, apparently this advert contains a whole lot of CGI - probably some of the most realistic CGI apparently made to date:-
Impressive stuff.
