Stunning Rainbow

There was a stunning rainbow over the town today. It looked just magnificent. :)
I was in town with Sam and the folks. Sam wanted something to help him with his Egyptian homework: I've loaned him two books on Egyptian hieroglyphics. I'd have dug up a National Geographic map on Ancient Egypt but I didn't have the time. The folks were waiting outside my flat in the car.
Not that they could have gone far. I'd been getting stuff out of the back of the car to leave in the flat, and that meant I'd needed Dad's car keys. Which I still had in my hand. They weren't going anywhere. :) But it was the principle of the thing that I not dawdle, so I didn't.
In PC World I laid my hands on a couple of sequels to Myst. I've yet to get Riven, but I have Exile and the fourth game. I hope my system can handle these. I'll give them a go later on tonight back at the flat. :) Should be super fun.
I've yet to go out of town. Next week, maybe. My current budget can't stand to withdrawing much more than £30 from the bank, and I don't want to dip into the Royal Bank of Sock yet. I'm hoping I can hold out until next week, and then put the sock money in on Tuesday.
And now for something completely different. Today I started on this CR thing. So far, no real pangs of hunger - but that's because I've got plenty of food digesting in me. Tomorrow it'll be different, because I'll feel the first gnawings. I've got some beans, for carbs and fibre. I'm also laying in some oily fish for required fats and proteins, and eggs for variety.
I'm planning on having the occasional tomato and stick of celery to provide me with fibre, and multivitamin / mineral supplements to make up for shortages.
That does remind me - shopping list. I need to write it up.
In other news, my story is coming along fine. I've been feeling out better names for my characters, and I've just done some changes throughout the book. They now sound more euphonious, and also the naming conventions will be more consistent throughout.
There's another thing I've been writing - well, two things - but they're private matters. All I can say is, I've had a major rethink on these articles, and will be retooling them tonight, along with other work on my Fourth Rewrite.
Finally, Nai's been asking me to get in touch with Polish speakers, because she has words she wants read out aloud and recorded onto MP3. I think I know just where to go. I'm going there anyway, for rye bread, beans and (hopefully) fennel seeds.
And that's it so far. Wish me luck.
