I'm looking for a candidate world in the Spinward Marches as the setting for a story, preferably in Imperial space.

Atmosphere: Standard, Tainted or Thin, Tainted. Some hydrographics present. Not a rock or an astreoid.

Population: High. Quite likely also Industrial.

TL: 11+. Grav assisted structures reaching for the heavens. Maybe even TL 14, though I want to feature a floating grav city in another story, unless the floating city is kind of an "off limits" paradise floating above the filth, for the rich and powerful only.

The location I'm after could easily be described as "resembling the city scapes of Blade Runner", all high tech, multi-layered, crowded, grungy cities with dirty rain pouring down from the heavens onto the crowd on City Bottom and grav cars being the almost exclusive province of the police.

And it's within jump-4 of a standard atmosphere, low population world of a much lower tech level.

Candidate worlds I've looked at so far include Strouden, Tenalphi and Lunion in Lunion sector, and Collace and Tarkine in District 268 (though Collace doesn't have the right atmosphere for the setting - Very Thin, around the level of the Atacama Desert or the top of Everest).

The setting is the Third Imperium, BTW: post-FFW, pre-Rebellion.

Any other suggestions?

Not having source books to hand, I will have to nominate Lunion solely on the grounds it reminds me of Bunions.

I really need to get the Mongoose Spinward Marches book when it comes out. :) Meantime, I'll have to be satisfied with my old LBB version.

But Lunion looks like the best candidate world for the setting of my story to date, knocking Collace off the top of the list.

It's just the image of this grungy world, standing on a ledge looking at the grimy streets going down, down, down ... it's an image that's hard to shake.
