I find queuing in shops, the local Co-op in particular, to be a frustrating waste of time. I don't care if it is the British national pastime. We have no time to waste standing in line, waiting for some dumb trainee shop person to run someone's lottery card through three times because they couldn't get it right the first time.
Before the customer pays for it with her credit card.
So I think that next time I'm there I'm bringing a rubber spider with me, and I'm dumping it in among the bananas. That ought to shorten the queue somewhat.
