Chaotic Randomness for Today
Feb. 12th, 2009 06:01 pm- Caps: It looks as if Jayne Cobb-style Cunning Hats are now the rage amongst slackers in town.
Still doesn't stop them looking like idiots.
- More Caps: Chap blanked me as I got off the bus. Two seconds later, a gust of wind blew his little maroon municipal Council worker's cap clean off his head, sent it bounding away off down the street.
"Born Free ..."
- Birds: Lots of birds nesting in trees right now. You only see them because of the bare branches. The trees'd have been starting to bud by now, but for the really shitty wintry conditions that had sorung upon us over the past fortnight. I did, however, catch sight of willow in full foliage: catkins and Pussy Willows on display, pollinating the cold air.
- More birds: In Manchester, I saw ... a flock of geese, flying overhead in their characteristic V formation. A pretty damned big flock, too.
Looks like Spring just got here. :)
- Books and stuff: Bought Mekhet. You can tell Howard Ingham wrote it - Lucy Sulphate's made an appearance in a Vampire: the Requiem book, in an incident that is connected strongly to Lucy's Awakening from Legacies: the Sublime.
Also, I bought Beltstrike for Mongoose Traveller. Written by Lawrence Whittaker, it includes an Artifact that rightly belongs in Larry Niven's Known Space - Slaver Stasis Fields. I am in awe. Absolute awe.
And that is all, basically, for today's little dose of randomness.
