... of finding out that all of the books I'd hoped to pitch to Mongoose had been taken, meaning I'd have to cast about for something even further afield *sigh*, I came across this link supplied by [livejournal.com profile] tanngrisnir ...

That took away my incredible sense of disappointment. It's hard to stay down when you've got two Tesla coils belting out the Doctor Who theme tune at a volume loud enough that it makes your ears ring.

I am a man of simple tastes, simple desires. Give me a challenge, and I will be happy. Deny me the chance to shine, and I will be down. Run some weird new interpretation of the Doctor Who theme tune played by trained gerbils or hollowed out root vegetables, and I am happy again.

Ron Grainer had no idea how much he would influence the world when he composed this theme.

Now. Waiting for the premiere of Law & Order: UK, airing on ITV1 in a few minutes. It's the UK version of the famous Law & Order brand name, and I wonder whether Dick Wolf can show us Brits how it's done.

Bearing in mind that we invented the murder mystery and police procedural, even Dick Wolf might have a hard time with this venturesome project ...

Well, the fingers are clumsy: it's the body behind them that are tired. But you get my point.

Editing the post now.
