Last night, I signed off early. I had a long day ahead of me, and I needed my beauty sleep as well as to wash my hair and shave, etc.
The morning began with another business breakfast - this one run by The Zone, the Glyndwr University enterprise centre. Unlike the previous business breakfast a week ago, The Zone opened its doors to students as well as old hands, businessmen and so on.
The organiser, Matthew Draycott, gave participants a chance to write up ideas and suggestions on boards, for possible future topics for these breakfasts. I myself had little idea of where these breakfasts could benefit me ... until I remembered my belonging to the Alumni Association. So I took the Alumni angle, and spoke of securing opportunities for past, present and future alumni Glyndwr Uni.
Much later, at the close of day, the second half of the event rounded off the evening with a lecture on the power of good Search Engine Optimisation techniques - white hat versus black hat SEO and SEM for paid marketing.
In all, well worth the lengthy slog of waiting for this second half to go ahead. I could recommend having the second half lecture some time before lunch next time, so that the impact of proceedings in the business breakfasts won't have had time to fade from memory.
And all of this gave me an idea - one I would like to see if I can pursue.
