End of Week Reflections
Feb. 4th, 2011 10:29 pm- Monday morning, one week on from Sean's death. The opening day of Freelancer Academy took care of the ponderous stuff, I became too busy looking at the process of becoming a freelancer to worry about the funeral taking place later in the week.
- Tuesday, more of the same. Only I found myself starting to fancy one of the other participants. I doubt it'll get anywhere, but it felt good to feel my heart hammering once in a while.
- Wednesday, unbelievable pants. The legal and financial technical stuff surrounding freelancers. At least I could get a handle on the financial matters: I understand numbers.
- Yesterday, the funeral took place, followed by a bit of an impromptu wake back home at the folks' place. Mum said she felt so proud of me, particularly stopping to touch the coffin in passing and saying "I wore the bright colours, just as you asked, bro. Not a shred of black, like I promised. Now you take it easy."
- Today, got down to writing more articles for Mongoose Traveller. A lot of ideas I have to commit to file, and at least two to submit before the end of this month. I'd like to complete the first article by the weekend, by Monday.
Tired as hell, now. I'll hit the sack in about half an hour, and have something I have not had all week long: a small privilege I have not claimed for days, now.
A lie in.
