BBC Radio 4 - "Sunday"
Mar. 13th, 2011 08:17 pmThe article on Thelema, an interview with Dr David Barrett, begins exactly 15 minutes in to this news item, and goes on for four minutes.
Below is an article from Wales Online, explaining the nature of Thelema in the light of the recent case where a man, Colin Batley, was convicted in Kidwelly, South Wales, of organising and running a sex cult which had borrowed imagery and bits of scripture from Aleister Crowley's books to clothe what was, essentially, just a paedophile and sex ring:-
And here is the original news item:-
Richard:
"And thus I clothe my naked villany
With odd old ends stol'n out of holy writ,
And seem a saint, when most I play the devil."
-- King Richard III (I, iii, 336-338)
Y'know, I'm not a Thelemite, nor a Wiccan as such. Pagan, yes, but my ecclectic and eccentric Discordian Chaotician Left Hand Path style would likely get me kicked out of any circle I attempted to join. I am definitely not one to follow the rules.
Nonetheless, when I see something like this case, or this one, in Llangollen, I do feel compelled to stand up for those who would otherwise likely not do the same for me, if I ever found myself in trouble.
You don't have to thank me. :)
