Round here, September 13th is more remembered for Breakaway Day: the day in 1999 when the Moon, with Moonbase Alpha, was blasted free of the Earth's orbit and sent hurtling through the interstellar void in a titanic nuclear cataclysm caused when Nuclear Waste Disposal Area 2 blew itself up.

Among the casualties: Commander John Koenig, Dr Helena Russell, Professor Victor Bergman, Eagle Pilot First Class Alan Carter, Paul Morrow, Kano, Sandra Benes, Security Chief Paul Verdeschi and many others. All lost, presumed dead. The world still mourns their passing.
