Blue Screen Of Death

The computer in the shed in the folks' shut down earlier today. All I get is a BSOD and it reboots over and over. Doesn't even get as far as the boot page before the BSOD appears for half a second, and then suddenly it's rebooting again.

And here's me with a deadline for Tuesday, and 3600 words to finish off by then. :(

I'm back in the flat, now, and I'll be here all weekend long - or until I get this item finished and emailed off.

God, I hope this stuff I'm writing makes the bloody cut.

try the F8 at startup and see if you can get it to boot in safe mode, failing that I will see if I can find how to rebuild the MBR for you

Safe Mode

Sadly, that was one of the first things I did try.

The damn thing doesn't even start up in safe mode, either, nor in "Last Known Good Configuration". Last I saw, it ended with the computer going as far as the F8 screen, giving the option of starting up in Safe Mode or normal, and then a funny noise, the BSOD and a reboot.

So it's really badly screwed up, I'm afraid. :(
