Let The Mourning Commence

It's with the heaviest heart I've felt since hearing of the death of Flavia Prunes, back in 1999, that I must announce that
naaila and I are no longer an item. This decision is irreversible. There's no coming back to Brigadoon.
Nai, you are free. The world is out there. Go and explore it. I've got a world to run.
Let the mourning commence.

Date: 2008-04-29 10:19 am (UTC)You wouldn't be ready for another romance for a while anyway, so yes, put romance away in a box and just enjoy life (and run the world!) ... and if romance comes back again (with whoever) then don't dismiss it automatically. Each relationship is different (duh!) and you meet people and one day *bam* you discover you've found someone special.
I was sure years ago I had found *the one* and that there wouldn't be anyone like her ... and that's true ... but there have been several since who weren't her but were still wonderful partners for the time we were together.
And you've got a lot of years left in you (and a new svelte physique!) so even if you don't go for romance, there's no reason you can't have fun for a while, and there are a fair number of women out there looking for fun rather than a relationship!
But still, it is a time for mourning, reflection, and then, a time for celebration of a new phase in your life. Dwelling in the past is usually painful (either remembering the pain of the past or emphasising the pain of the present), so the best thing to do is live in the present and face the future (platitudes perhaps, but heartfelt and true nevertheless!)
