The Day I Went To Watch The Dark Knight

This post is entirely without spoilers. I know it's been a while since the theatrical release, but some people I know, who watch my f'list, have not seen this movie yet, so I won't let them down here.
I had the same situation with the third LoTR film, which I couldn't spoil with the same friend, and with the third Matrix movie, all for the same reasons.
Bearing in mind my friend's financial situation right now, it's hard to blame her for not having gone yet. I only hope some cash comes through before too long, and that there'll be some left over to be able to go to the cinema before this film gets pulled from the schedules.
So, then, I can't talk about the film directly, apart from saying "
jagash, you were absolutely right about it." What can I say? Other than mentioning Heath Ledger's performance, which really was beyond words, and the presence of hot actress Maggie Gyllenhaal in the film?
Well, I walked all the way there from my place, all the way across town and out the other side, to the cinema: and I walked the whole way back as well. A journey of bloody miles.
All without having eaten for thirteen hours. And during the film, I honestly forgot to be hungry. Forgot to be tired or emotional, other than saying "Holy. Shit." once in a while.
It was how I remembered feeling, back when I watched Batman Begins - the last time I'd gone to the cinema.
On the way out, the sun was shining. Traffic was backed up from the centre of town all the way up to the entrance to the cinema. I'd have walked home anyway, but it was strange to be able to keep pace with the traffic all the way into town.
I had my shades on, and my duty blacks, with my fleece coat on lying open, my churinga on display in its brown leather pouch and, of course, my trusty sport endurance riding pouch hanging from my steel chain belt. As I passed the entrance ot the college, a couple of guys crossed my path as they entered. The taller lad looked at me and said "Peace, man!" *puzzled* Wonder why?
Anyway, that was a journey I never thought I'd be doing. And to do this two days in a row ... if and when I get fitter, I might just try out walking from Hightown all the way to my folks' place some time. Might save me a fortune in bus fares, and by the time I'm done here, you'll be able to post me through a letterbox, I'll be so thin.
See? No spoilers. :)

Not to mention that I would have laughed if that were to be Katie Holmes.
