fiat_knoxToday, I found myself poring over the source code of a web page which allows the user to generate words and sentences in Zhodani, Vilani, Droyne, Vargr and a couple of other languages including Bwap and Sword Worlder.
These tools for the Traveller roleplaying game pop up all over the place. If you look deeply enough, you can find an entire site dedicated to Traveller library data; a map of Charted Space; and fora devoted to Traveller gearheads and grognards of every variety.
Way back when, Traveller touted itself as the first roleplaying game to develop computerised tools - a copy of the trade tables for Merchant Prince was made available on a floppy disc for, I believe, the Apple II computer.
Can't currently see an online trade generator. But give it time, and enough experience with Java or something similar, and no doubt you'll see some enterprising soul manage to put up one somewhere.
This is the sort of thing someone like me would have given my eye teeth for, back in the day. Gods, I love this century.
(Of course I would have to love it. It's where I'll spend the rest of my life. It's just a damned shame I'll never get to see the next one ...)
