Report on Activities
Feb. 26th, 2009 08:43 pmWell, I came, I saw, I kicked some. I bought Book 3, Scout, for Mongoose. And a fine read it is, too. I also bought myself the third and final collected editions of the Journal of the Travellers' Aid Society magazine, because of the articles it presented - valuable insights into the state of Classic Traveller before the end.
I genuinely wish there'd been a Zhodani Alien Module, because that would have been what I'd have bought had there been one. Ah, well, No time or room for recriminations now. I'll have to wait for the Zhodani module to come out of Mongoose now.
Weirdest thing, though. On my way out, I saw that someone had gone all along the corridor at the railway station, and somehow punched great big 1 cm circular holes in all the safety glass. The windows were all cracked in radial patterns, as if somebody had just punched out big circles of glass: but the little crosswiring reinforcing the glass was undamaged, and since that was exterior to the panes and there were no glass fragments inside, nor holes in the walls or ceiling opposite, I could only conclude that it was somebody with some sort of punch working on the windows from the inside.
Oh. And before I forget ... Wrexham General has a cafe on the premises, for the first time in 41 years. It's only a tiny, poky little thing, with just one small table, and the big man inside was a little camp, but I think that the campness was his USP. That, and his adroit handling of food. It was only my first visit to this little place, but I intend to keep on giving it my custom every time I nip off on patrol somewhere.
Got to do my bit for the economy, you know.

Date: 2009-02-27 11:26 pm (UTC)There is quite a bit of official and apocryphal stuff about the Zhodani. It's also worth knowing what DGP had planned for them. Can I recommend the collected JTAS CD from Far Future. Both it and the Classic Traveller CD are well worth the $35 Marc asks for them.
