Recession 'sparks rise in CV lies'
The recession is causing more jobseekers to lie on their CV in a bid to find work, according to new research.
A survey of 2,000 adults showed that over a third admitted lying in their attempts to find a job, often driven by the rising level of unemployment.
Londoners were most likely to be untruthful, revealed the study by SkillsActive, which promotes competitiveness and productivity.
Chief executive Stephen Studd said: "As available jobs become increasingly scarce, some candidates are bound to bend the truth if they think it will give them a better chance."
Well, with a name like Steve Studd, I bet he doesn't need to lie on his cv ...
My CV doesn't lie. It doesn't need to. It just lists the things I have done in an outrageous life.
I can't help it if people won't believe me.
