An Informed Guess

A friend of mine in good standing came up with a theory today, of what sort of a man bosses in IT are looking for around here.

They are looking for a hybrid of this guy:-



and a worker from an environment like this:-



Basically, someone who will live, eat, breathe, sleep and shit code, but who will get paid like a battery hen and treated like a spare part at a car boot sale.

Even now, they want it all, and they don't want to pay for it.

What makes these bosses think that anyone worth £40k a year will want to work in Wrexham anyway?

I think I met him yesterday: I was at a conference and noticed one of the delegates had listed his job title as 'Computer Monkey' :)

If all the geeks in the world could get past all the drama queening, we could dismember the world, and reshape it in our own image.

Even now, we can see the signs of this happening - this journal, for instance, and the device it displays on.

We are living in the Twenty - First Century. And I think those who live by the standards of the last century and the one before that must come to realise that they have now had their day.
