I just watched an episode of this TV soap. Somebody told me that a character was going to get outed as gay on the show.

And he was.

And the first thing he did, upon being outed, was to beat the living shit out of his harmless, soft housemate.

Erm, way to go, ITV, portraying gays as being psychopathic hooligans.

I mean, what was their intention? To show that gays are, deep down, psychopathic and violent? Or are they trying to say that the thug was a psycho because he was gay - that this is what being gay inside does to you?

Either way, well done for pulling a Jan Moir.

Horribly, their intent may have been to show that just because you're gay doesn't mean you're weak: you can still beat the crap out of your defenseless friends!
