At Short Notice

fiat_knoxI've done some fun and interesting things today, completely out of left field.
First, in furtherance of my aim of independence from the State, I sent off a speculative email to someone ... not looking for a job, but writing to this businessman as an equal, discussing strategies concerning a third party.
He sent me an email late tonight, asking for me to phone him ASAP so we could meet up.
Also, at the same time and at short notice, Leigh Ann Hills (may the Maker bless her and keep her in health and long life!) sent me an email, informing me that the organisers of a new art exhibit asked her to extend an invitation to the private preview this Friday evening.
Let me say that again.
They want me to attend. Me.
And what, pray tell, is the theme of this event?

We are delighted to invite you to the opening of the art exhibition "Visualising the Invisible" Artists working in Mental Health by Karen Heald and Susan Liggett.
Recipient of last year’s Stiwdio Safle award , Karen Heald has been Artist in Residence at the Ablett Unit, Glan Clwyd Hospital, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board for the past nine months. Here she has been working with resident patients who are affected by a variety of mental health disorders. During her time at the Ablett Unit, Karen ran painting workshops in collaboration with painter Susan Liggett, and Fine Art student Jaime Kelly, for patients and staff. Patients artworks including paintings and films will be shown alongside the artists work made in response to the experience of the residency.
Karen Heald is based in Wrexham, has exhibited her work widely throughout the UK, Europe and Asia, she is also completing her artist’s PhD at Leeds Metropolitan University exploring ideas of time, sleep and being "in-between."
Yesterday, I also found myself tempted to deliver a lecture at the next MBS meeting in Glyndwr. The theme will be "The Left Hand Path." When I told the organiser my name, he paused for a moment, saying "Hang on. That name seems very familiar to me somehow ..."
I get around. I only travel by bus, with a £16 weekly saver bus ticket, but nonetheless, I do seem to get around. What can I say? :)
