Having recently dug up an introductory PDF for the Vulcan language for Star Trek, I took in the Ancient High Golic Vulcan phrase

Du vravshal srashiv t'Kolinahr

which, roughly translated, means

You have not achieved Kolinahr

or, in simpler language,

You have failed to achieve a state of logic

Do you think I can use this as a veiled insult to stupid people or what? :D

In my experience, the drawback to using foreign languages as insults to other people is that they don't know what it means. And then they ask you what it means. And if you say "It means have a nice day!" they know you're lying.

Foreign insults

I'm pretty much expected to come up with foreign phrases for various occasions. Once or twice, I do happen to say something a bit more ... salty, just for fun.

Such as my once saying to a girl at work "Futue me nunc, longe et dure, et bis durior Dominici," and telling her that it was a line of Virgil's Latin poetry.
