It's good to be, erm, back. Well, I never went away: I just didn't bother writing anything here over the holidays.
But now, with the exception of the local buses who are running a Sunday Bank Holiday service, and the shops who might be doing the same, things are getting back to the state they were before Christmas '04.
More or less.
The tsunami caught everyone off guard, not least those 136,000 souls confirmed dead so far in ten nations, including unfortunates in Kenya and Somalia.
All we hear over here is "oh, a hundred and thirty thousand dead AND FORTY DEAD BRITS!" But where are the European, American, Japanese and Australian tourists who also came for a paradise getaway, never to return?
I was considering putting up some facetious posting along the lines of "Oh, I had a book, and a DVD, and a spiffy new shirt (black, naturally) and a new pair of pants and a ..." but somehow, I doubt there would be people here who care.
