How in frell's name did they come up with Aragorn for my character?

Oh, apart from the fact that he is somehow chosen by prophecy, survives to live to a ripe old age and gets crowned King. And that he knows when to use the dead and the forces of Darkness, and when to let go.

And that he has the healing touch.

Food

I just had some food. Noodles, served with a Bovril cube dissolved in hot water.

The Bovril cube was a thick, black, tar, more like some sort of smokable resin of some illegal substance than a recognisable foodstuff. The water dissolved it readily enough, forming a dark, vaguely beefy liquid in which the noodles slowly softened.

To my growling stomach, the whole thing was absolutely delicious.

There is a reason why my pantry is empty - and I hope that when I'm slim enough that you can post me through a letterbox, I'll remember this reason.

But my stomach rarely forgives me these days.

Health and Safety, and all that shite

Bans on toilet roll tubes in schools. Bans on those cardboard egg holders. Teachers have to wear safety goggles to put up a poster. One teacher received a five page document instructing him on how to use a glue stick.

Will somebody please just shut these Health & Safety morons down, on the grounds that they are a danger to themselves and to others and therefore need to be sectioned under the Mental Health Act?
